Product Code: DC15

The Pentair DC15 is a compact 12 V DC air pump designed to provide aeration for freshwater aquaculture tanks, livewells, bait-holding systems and live-fish transport applications. Rated at 80 W, it is suited to applications requiring more aeration capacity than the smaller DC8 model. The pump includes 12-inch electrical pigtails, 6 inches of 1/4-inch inside-diameter outlet hose and a plastic manifold with 3/16-inch outlets for aquarium tubing. It is designed for freshwater use and is not recommended for saltwater environments.

Included with the Pump:

The DC15 is supplied with:

  • 12-inch power leads (pigtails)
  • 6-inch length of 1/4-inch I.D. outlet hose
  • Plastic air manifold with multiple 3/16-inch outlets for aquarium tubing

Typical Applications

The DC15 is commonly used for:

  • Live fish hauling tanks
  • Hatchery tanks
  • Bait tanks
  • Remote aquaculture facilities
  • Battery-powered emergency aeration
  • Vehicle-powered aeration during fish transport

Performance

The DC15 is intended for high air volume at low pressure. It is best suited to shallow tanks using air stones or diffusers. It is not designed to supply high-pressure applications such as deep ponds or long airline runs. For deeper water or continuous-duty systems, Pentair recommends compressors such as the DC20 diaphragm compressor or Sweetwater rocking piston and rotary vane compressors.

Electrical Requirements

  • Nominal voltage: 12 VDC
  • Power: 80 W
  • Current draw: approximately 6.7 A (80 W ÷ 12 V)

A battery or power supply should therefore be capable of providing at least 8–10 amps continuously to allow for startup and reliable operation.
