The Wildco® 1140-H42 is the Alpha™ Horizontal Water Sampler Kit with a 4.2 L opaque PVC bottle. This Van Dorn-style sampler is designed to collect representative water samples at a specific depth in lakes, reservoirs, rivers, estuaries, and marine environments. The sampler descends horizontally (parallel to the bottom) and is triggered with a messenger at the desired depth, making it ideal for sampling thermoclines, stratified water layers, and water immediately above bottom sediments. The PVC body is more durable and economical than acrylic, making it a popular choice for routine field monitoring.

4.2 Litre Capacity
Kit Includes SBK2 messenger , 62-C15 line (100 ft.) and Carrying Case.
The PVC body is opaque, but is more durable and less expensive than acrylic. Alpha samplers are not suitable for chemical analysis of contents due to the potential for contamination (i.e. by mercury and phosphorus) by the materials in the sampler's construction. For chemical analysis, inquire about the Beta or suggested Kemmerer water samplers. This sampler requires a messenger and line (not included, except in kits) for operation. A thermometer can be mounted inside acrylic Alpha™ bottles.
