Product Code: 203007
MPN: 2030W

Extendable rod for using the 203001 or 203002 Mechanical Flowmeter in streams and moving water.

The General Oceanics 2030W Wading Rod is a telescoping aluminium rod designed for accurately positioning General Oceanics mechanical flowmeters during open-channel water velocity measurements. Extending from 3 to 8 feet (0.9–2.4 m), the rod enables users to safely measure stream and river currents from shorelines, bridges, culverts, or while wading, providing stable and repeatable flowmeter placement in freshwater environments. It is an essential accessory for hydrologists, fisheries biologists, environmental consultants, and aquatic researchers conducting current velocity and discharge studies.

The 2030W attaches directly to compatible General Oceanics flowmeters using the flowmeter's nose-cone mounting arrangement, allowing the instrument to pivot freely for proper alignment with water flow. For applications requiring a rigid mounting, the attachment can be configured accordingly. Manufactured from lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminium, the telescoping rod is durable enough for routine field use while remaining easy to transport and deploy. It is compatible with both mechanical (2030 Series) and electronic (2031 Series) flowmeters, making it a versatile accessory for stream gauging, environmental monitoring, fisheries assessments, and aquatic research.
