The General Oceanics 2030W Wading Rod is a telescoping aluminium rod designed for accurately positioning General Oceanics mechanical flowmeters during open-channel water velocity measurements. Extending from 3 to 8 feet (0.9–2.4 m), the rod enables users to safely measure stream and river currents from shorelines, bridges, culverts, or while wading, providing stable and repeatable flowmeter placement in freshwater environments. It is an essential accessory for hydrologists, fisheries biologists, environmental consultants, and aquatic researchers conducting current velocity and discharge studies.
The 2030W attaches directly to compatible General Oceanics flowmeters using the flowmeter's nose-cone mounting arrangement, allowing the instrument to pivot freely for proper alignment with water flow.
