The HOBO U24-001 Freshwater Conductivity Data Logger is a compact, rugged data logger designed to measure and record water conductivity and temperature for long-term freshwater monitoring. It can also provide calculated specific conductance at 25°C using the HOBOware Conductivity Assistant. The U24-001 is well suited to monitoring streams, lakes, aquifers and other freshwater environments where changes in conductivity can indicate changes in water quality, saltwater intrusion, road runoff, agricultural runoff or other pollution sources.
The U24-001 provides two calibrated conductivity ranges: 0 to 1,000 µS/cm and 0 to 10,000 µS/cm, with extended ranges of up to 2,500 µS/cm and 15,000 µS/cm respectively. Conductivity resolution is 1 µS/cm, while temperature is measured with 0.01°C resolution and 0.1°C accuracy at 25°C. Sensor drift is less than 3% per year, excluding drift caused by fouling.
The logger stores up to 18,500 temperature and conductivity measurements when one conductivity range is used, with a 64 KB memory capacity. Sampling intervals can be programmed from 1 second to 18 hours, including multiple-rate sampling with up to eight user-defined intervals. A typical battery life of approximately three years is achieved when logging at one-minute intervals.
