The LaMotte® 1068 Sounding Weight is a 2 lb (0.9 kg) cast metal weight designed for use with LaMotte's flushing-style water samplers. Attached to the bottom bridle of the sampler, the weight helps the unit descend rapidly and remain vertical during sampling, minimizing drift caused by currents and ensuring representative water samples are collected at the desired depth.
