Formalin, Neutral Buffered (NBF), 10% Solution, 4 x 1 Gallon
Suitable for routine tissue fixation, long-term specimen storage and diagnostic pathology, 10% NBF penetrates tissue rapidly while producing excellent preservation of cellular architecture for paraffin embedding, sectioning and staining. It is compatible with most routine histological stains, including haematoxylin and eosin (H&E), and is commonly used in medical laboratories, veterinary clinics, universities, fisheries laboratories and research institutions. A phosphate-buffered solution, it preserves tissue morphology by stabilising cellular proteins while maintaining a near-neutral pH of 6.8–7.2. The buffering system helps prevent the formation of acid formaldehyde haematin pigments that can occur with unbuffered formalin, resulting in superior preservation and improved microscopic examination.
This product does not ship once outside of Southwestern British Columbia if temperatures are below 5 degrees C.
