The Hanna HI98331 Soil Test™ Direct Soil EC Tester is a compact, waterproof meter designed to measure electrical conductivity (EC) and temperature directly in soil. Its 114 mm (4.5") stainless steel penetration probe allows quick, direct soil measurements without the need to prepare a soil slurry, making it useful for agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse production, environmental monitoring, and soil research.
The HI98331 measures soil electrical conductivity from 0 to 4000 µS/cm (0.00 to 4.00 mS/cm or dS/m) and temperature from 0.0 to 50.0°C. Automatic temperature compensation uses a fixed temperature coefficient of 2%/°C to compensate readings for changes in sample temperature.
