The LaMotte® 0172 Student Grade Kick Net is an economical aquatic sampling net designed for collecting benthic macroinvertebrates from streams, rivers, ponds, and shallow lakes. Developed for environmental education and biological monitoring, the kick net features a durable nylon mesh net that attaches to two wooden handles (not included) that allow users to hold the net securely on the stream bottom while disturbing the substrate upstream. Aquatic insects, crustaceans, snails, and other organisms are carried by the current into the net for collection and identification. It is widely used in schools, universities, watershed monitoring programs, and citizen science projects. Mesh Size: approximately 1/32”.
