The Zak Fish Spawning Knife is a lightweight, disposable knife specifically designed for opening broodstock during artificial spawning operations in fish hatcheries and aquaculture facilities. The sharp stainless steel blade produces clean, controlled incisions from the vent toward the head, allowing hatchery personnel to efficiently remove eggs while minimising tissue damage and preserving egg quality. Disposable Zak knives have become the standard spawning knife used in many salmon and trout hatcheries because they reduce cross-contamination between fish and eliminate the need for sharpening.
The ergonomic plastic handle provides a secure grip, even when wet, while the fine-point blade allows precise control during egg extraction. It is available individually or in economical bulk packages for high-volume hatchery operations.
