The Wildco 150-A10 Hester-Dendy Square Sampler is a compact artificial substrate sampler designed for collecting aquatic macroinvertebrates for biological monitoring and environmental assessment. Hester-Dendy samplers provide a standardized artificial habitat that aquatic organisms can colonize during deployment, allowing researchers to collect and analyse macroinvertebrate communities. They can be suspended at different depths, floated at the surface or attached to submerged objects such as boulders and stakes.
The 150-A10 features nine 7.6 cm × 7.6 cm (3 × 3 in.) square tempered hardboard plates separated by square spacers. The plates and spacers are mounted on a 1/4-inch (0.64 cm) eyebolt, creating three single spaces, three double spaces and one triple space between the plates. The sampler provides approximately 0.10 m² of sampling area.
