The Wildco 150-A15 Hester-Dendy Square Sampler is a pack of 10 nine-plate square artificial substrate samplersdesigned for aquatic macroinvertebrate sampling, biological monitoring and environmental assessment. Hester-Dendy samplers provide a standardized artificial habitat that aquatic organisms can colonize during deployment, allowing researchers to collect and analyse macroinvertebrate communities. The samplers can be suspended in the water column, floated or attached to suitable submerged objects.
Each 150-A15 sampler consists of nine 7.6 × 7.6 cm (3 × 3 in.) square plates, providing approximately 0.10 m² of sampling surface area. The plates are separated by spacers to create protected spaces where aquatic organisms can establish. The compact design makes the sampler useful for standardized studies of aquatic invertebrate communities in streams, rivers, lakes and other aquatic environments.
